About
I am a UKCP and BACP accredited registered existential psychotherapist and supervisor with experience in both NHS, University, and private practice settings. I hold and BA in English Language & Literature, MA in Psychotherapy & Counselling, and Advanced Diploma in Existential Psychotherapy. With other 2000 client hours and 10 years as a supervisor and therapist, I also undertake monthly clinical supervision myself and ongoing personal therapy. I am currently undertaking research on the topic of the "existential mother', looking at the lived experience of women during fertility treatment, pregnancy and the postpartum period. My ADEP these was published in a peer-reviewed journal (see above for title). I have experience of supervising both individuals and groups. I have facilitated group work for both therapists and clients within my role as senior therapist and supervisor at Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. My approach being relational and responsive, I find that the supervisory and group settings are excellent paradigms for the exploration of the implicit and explicit themes that we encounter within our lived experience, including being, time, truth, body, relatedness and ethics. I believe it important to attend to both the presentation of the client and the presence of the therapist(s). I aim to create a space for ethical, safe and challenging encounters between group member as individuals and as a collective in much the same way as I do in my client work. As a visiting lecturer at Regent’s University, I teach on the MA in Psychotherapy & Counselling.
